Land and Water
The amount of land and water resources impacted by the CEV is significantly smaller than the BAU, which continues to rely on destructive fossil fuel extraction including coal mining and gas drilling.
Transforming fossil resources into useable power requires processes that are polluting and resource-intensive. And fossil fuel consumption further accelerates the rate of climate change resulting in greater losses to wildlife and their habitat. We can mitigate these impacts by planning a CEV transition today.
